aboutLast updated Feb 2007 I started writing erotica when I read a mini-short story collection that was cover mounted on a magazine. They were asking for stories. I ended up selling 3 short stories to Black Lace. I write books about what interests me. I couldn't bear to think I was writing the same thing as everyone else. My first book, Peep Show, about a woman who is turned on by the idea of gay male sex was pretty much the first mainstream erotic romance about this subject. Mad About the Boy is similarly twisted, about a woman who is hot for the idea of paying a man for sex even though she has a perfectly happy relationship. In both of these books the heroines are in happy long term relationships with nice guys. This is intentional. I wanted to write about how that experience can seem unfulfilling. But how, ultimately, fulfilment can often be found right next to you on the pillow. Equal Opportunities is a bit of a change. More challenging, darker, and
with, *gasp*, two points of view. This book is also more of a traditional
romance, featuring a relationship forming between the two main characters.
The difference is the hero is in a wheelchair and the heroine is a kinky
disability fetishist. Like I say, I don’t like to write what everyone else
is writing. This book is generating lots of 'buzz'. It has received brilliant
reviews and won Best Female Domination Scene in the Scarlet Magazine Erotic
Fiction Awards 2006. I have stories forthcoming in collections from Cleis Press and Audible.com. I am the erotica and erotic romance book reviewer for Reflection's Edge and the programmer for the group author blog Lust Bites. I am also a slasher, a fan, a fanficcer, and I am a proud supporter of all forms of fan works. |
